A live, color-coded table grid on the staff terminal — occupancy, ticket age, and unbilled tables, updated automatically as orders open and close.
The status grid lives on the staff terminal — the tablet at the host stand or waiter station, not a back-office report.
Every table shown as a color-coded card — Available, Occupied, Reserved, or Cleaning — so staff see floor status at a glance instead of walking the room.
A table flips to Occupied the instant an order is opened against it, and reverts once the bill is settled — no manual status toggling required during service.
Each open table shows how long its order has been running, so a table that's been sitting far longer than the rest is easy to spot.
Tables with an order still awaiting payment stay visible as unbilled, tying directly into the dedicated unpaid-orders view on the billing screen.
It updates on its own — a table flips to Occupied the moment an order is opened against it, and back to Cleaning once the bill is settled. The staff view refreshes automatically every 30 seconds, so you don't need to force a manual refresh to see current status.
The interactive, color-coded floor grid with live status and ticket timers is built for the staff-facing terminal app, since that's what runs on the tablet at the host stand or waiter station. The owner dashboard has its own table list for administration (adding tables, setting capacity), but the working floor view is the terminal.
How long a table's order has been open, shown as a running duration (e.g. '5m', '1h 20m') so staff can spot a table that's been sitting a while without needing to check a paper ticket or ask the kitchen.
Not yet — tables are managed as a flat list with a table number and seat capacity each. Section grouping and table merge/split aren't available today.
A table with an open order shows as unbilled until it's fully settled. The billing screen has a dedicated view for unpaid orders, so a table isn't marked available again until payment actually clears.
