Attendance Tracking Without the Register: Mobile Check-In Explained
A paper attendance register tells you when someone signed in — it does not tell you whether they were late by policy, whether a half-day should apply, or what to do when someone simply forgets to sign out.
Antena's attendance tracking checks every clock-in against the employee's assigned policy: it flags lateness once a configured grace period is exceeded, applies half-day rules based on total hours worked, and — if a checkout is missing — routes it to manager approval instead of leaving a gap in the record or guessing at a number.
Because clock-ins happen from a mobile device or a shared terminal PIN rather than a manual entry, the timestamp is captured automatically the moment the shift actually starts or ends, and (where a policy enables it) geo-fencing confirms the clock-in happened on-site.
The upshot: attendance data that is accurate enough to feed directly into payroll reporting, without a manager reconciling a paper register at the end of the month.
